The Beloved (ENG SUBS)

Esteban Martínez (Javier Bardem) is a living film legend. He owes this status not only to his cinematic masterpieces, but also to his penchant for worldly pleasures. For years, he had barely any contact with his daughter Emilia (Victoria Luengo), but now that he’s back in Spain, he unexpectedly offers her the lead role in his new film. At first glance, this seems like the perfect moment for reconciliation, but it doesn’t take long for old wounds to start festering. As father and daughter work together on the film set, the lines between fiction and reality blur, and the situation quickly turns into an emotional minefield. The Beloved , by Spanish director Rodrigo Sorogoyen ( Las Bestias, Madre ), is a gripping father-daughter drama that treads the fine line between love and manipulation. Bardem is already known for his impressive roles in Skyfall (2012), Vicky Cristina Barcelona (2008), and No Country for Old Men (2007), for which he even won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor. Yet several media sources dare to call his role in The Beloved one of his best ever. Brace yourself for his terrifying emotional terror…
